What is an Internet Speed Test?
An internet speed test is a measurement of a user’s Internet connection speed, which reports upload speed, download speed, bandwidth, ping, jitter, and packet loss.
What internet speed do you need to stream?
According to Google and most internet companies, you need a minimum download speed of 3MB to stream to a single TV in standard definition and 5MB for High Definition. But we disagree. We suggest having an internet speed of at least 15MB or higher. This way, you won’t suffer from your tv continuously buffering, and you won’t have to watch that circle go in circles more than you watch your show!
How can you test your internet speed?
To run an internet speed test, the user must have the device connected to the router via cable or Wi-Fi to test connection speed. Conducting a speed test is a free service, and depending on which speed test you choose, it will tell you what speed you are currently operating on.
